MOPS Leadership Q&A
Do I have to be member or attend True North Church?
No, you don't have to attend or be a member. However, you do need to complete something called GROW TRACK . This can be done on Sundays at one of our venues OR at a GROW TRACK ONE DAY.
Do I have to attend ALL the sessions?
It would be wonderful if you could attend all, but we certainly understand if you have to miss 1 or 2. You just have to be sure to inform your co-leader.
Can I have the same co-leader as last session?
I'd like to keep you together. However, if you'd like to switch things up, PLEASE let me know. There may also be a chance you're with a NEW MOPS LEADER that needs to tag-team with a MOPS Leader veteran.
Will we have MOPS SWAP?
Yes, we will! It's such a BIG HIT. We'll start it the FIRST MOPS SESSION on Feb. 13th.
Will I have to decorate my table every time?
NO. All tables will have the exact same decor. You're table will be set and ready when you arrive. All you have to do is gather your name tag, pens, agenda sheet, etc..(this is all available at the Leader's Table)
Will there be another person co-leading with me?
Yes, we try our best to have 2 leaders at every table.
Can I pick my co-leader?
Absolutely. However, if they're new to MOPS leadership, please inform me who it is "before" you ask. We do ask they go through GROW TRACK or at least start it.
Is there childcare for my own Kids?
Yes, we provide FREE childcare for all LEADERS who serve. I just need to know in advance.
Can I ask whoever I want to sit at my MOPS table?
ABSOLUTELY! It's highly advised to FILL UP your table before MOPS even starts. We can sit 8 Total comfortably (that includes the leaders).
I'm a little shy and don't like to put myself out there and "Invite."
That's OK. It might mean your table isn't as full, but there are PLENTY of NEW MOMS that come by themselves and don't know where to sit. That's when we'll sit them at your table.
Can any mom join MOPS as a participant?
No, it's really geared for moms of preschoolers or moms expecting a child.
Will there be invite cards to pass out?
YEP! Pass those cards out like crazy. They'll be available at both venues. Pick a few up and hand them out!
When a mom registers, can she request to sit with me or a friend of hers?
Yes, she can. In the registration portion it asks "Is there a lady or a friend you'd like to sit with?"
Do moms have to pay for childcare?
Yes, but at an AMAZING AFFORDABLE cost. $10 per child for the entire 6 week duration! If someone can't afford it, please let me know.
Do I have to bring a snack every week?
No, however ALL leaders will bring some sort of dish/snack for the FIRST SESSION. Then after the first session, we'll assign tables for the next MOPS.
Aside from leading at a MOPS table, what else is expected of me?
Well, that really is up to you. The most IMPORTANT thing is letting the moms know at your table you care and pray for them. You'll continue having an attendance sheet every week. This is important to know who you should follow up with and send them encouraging texts or letters via snail mail (Which the church has available with stamps). There are a lot of MOPS LEADERS who see this as their ministry and they go above and beyond. You have the freedom to do that. It's really up to you. But outside MOPS sessions, you're not expected to meet..unless you wish to.
Are we gonna meet before MOPS starts?
Yes! We're having a DINNER on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 @ 6P at True North's Cafe. However, I'm more than happy to connect with you in person, over the phone, or zoom.
