YOUR NEXT STEP

WATER BAPTISM

A PUBLIC DECLARATION OF YOUR NEW LIFE IN JESUS.

Water baptism is an important next step for every follower of Jesus. It’s an outward expression of the decision you’ve already made to follow Christ—and a moment worth celebrating with your church family.

WHAT BAPTISM MEANS

FOLLOWING JESUS

Baptism is a step of obedience for those who have put their faith in Jesus. Jesus Himself was baptized, and throughout the New Testament we see believers responding to the gospel by being baptized.

Matthew 3:16 · Acts 8:12

NEW LIFE

Going under the water represents dying to the old life, and coming back up represents the new life we have in Christ. Baptism gives us a powerful picture of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

Romans 6:4 · Colossians 2:12

GOING PUBLIC

Baptism doesn’t make us Christians or earn salvation. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. Baptism is a public way of saying, “I have decided to follow Jesus.”

Ephesians 2:8–9

FAQS

Have more questions? We’d be happy to chat with you.
Who should be baptized?
Anyone who has personally put their faith in Jesus and made the decision to follow Him. In the New Testament, baptism follows a person’s response of faith in Christ. Acts 8:12–13 church.truenorthak.org
Does baptism save me?
No. Salvation is a gift of God received through faith in Jesus, not something we earn through baptism or any other work. Baptism is the outward expression of the faith and commitment that have already taken place in your heart. Ephesians 2:8–9 church.truenorthak.org
How does True North practice baptism?
We baptize by full immersion in water. This follows the biblical picture of being buried with Christ and raised to new life with Him. Romans 6:4 Colossians 2:12
Can my child be baptized?
Yes. True North baptizes children age seven and older who understand what baptism means and have personally chosen to follow Jesus. We encourage parents to partner with our Kids and Youth teams as their children take these steps of faith. church.truenorthak.org
When are baptisms held?
Water baptisms take place on the last Sunday of each month. Sign up ahead of time and our team will help you prepare. church.truenorthak.org
